DRIVE TO DISCOVERY (2012 –): An action research project for Statoil’s Exploration Improvement Program. The main objective of the project is to enable Statoil to find more oil and gas through maturing more high quality ideas towards realization and breakthrough in discovery. Tord Mortensen of New Idea Work and I work closely with practitioners from Statoil to facilitate more drive to discovery by (1) maturing high-value ideas with unique geological insights in concrete cases, and (2) developing research-based insights on work practices for maturing ideas smarter and faster (project leader for BI and co-initiator)

IDEA WORK. Zones of criticality and collective practice in creating extraordinary value (2008-): A four-year research project sponsored by the Norwegian Research Council and five participating Norwegian firms. Associated research groups are at Universities in Sydney, Michigan and Liverpool, all internationally recognized leaders within their fields (co-initiator and project leader).

ENGAGE. Getting projects right from the Start (2007-2009): Project for Hydro Projects on communicative practices in early-phase project management (co-initiator and project member).

CREATIVITY IN INCREASED OIL RECOVERY (2006-2010): Project for Statoil by the corporate initiative on Increased Oil Recovery. The project has so far included facilitation of workshops for IOR at Snorre and Gullfaks (initiator, project leader through 2008).

CREATE. Exploring exploration creativity (2005-2011): Project for Statoil by the Explore research program and the Chief Geologist. This multi-year project involves a PhD and included over 100 interviews as well as facilitation of eight workshops with exploration teams (co-initiator and project member)
